Between 2001 and 2010, The Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network (CLLRNet) supported research, training and knowledge exchange programs to improve the language, literacy and numeracy skills of Canadian children. This work was supported primarily by Industry Canada's Networks of Centres of Excellence Program. That funding ended in 2009, and the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network ceased operations on March 31, 2010.

	The Encyclopedia of Language and Literacy Development The Encyclopedia of Language and Literacy Development is the first comprehensive, authoritative, archival, science-based, bilingual online resource focussed on children's language and literacy development for the Canadian education sector.		Language and Literacy: From Birth For Life This resource kit is based on the latest research into how young children develop the ability to use language and to read and write.
	Handbook of Language and Literacy Development The Handbook of Language and Literacy Development project is dedicated to the creation of accessible and refereed resources that will provide evidence-based information on childrens' language and literacy development. (now hosted at the University of Alberta)		Foundations For Literacy The aim of this resource is to provide teachers with a review of recent findings from well-designed research studies on the teaching of reading and writing. This kit can be used as a reference tool in daily practice.
	National Strategy for Early Literacy The National Strategy for Early Literacy report synthesizes key findings from 15 policy research papers (available on this site) and an extensive public consultation process. The report concludes with specific recommendations regarding how current policies and practices can be modified to improve literacy outcomes, and how these can be publicly monitored.		Foundations For Numeracy This resource kit was created for early learning practitioners and teachers to help them support the development of numeracy skills of children in their care. The information presented in the kit is based on a comprehensive review of recent well-designed research studies on the learning and teaching of mathematics.
